Van Vliet Centre
One of the best equipped recreational facilities of any university in Canada, the Van Vliet Centre houses the Steadward Centre (formerly the Rick Hansen Centre) a specialized fitness centre for the physically disabled, two indoor swimming pools plus gymnastics and weight training rooms. The Universiade Pavillion (known as the Butterdome) contains full-scale facilities for track and field events, as well as a large indoor running loop. Located in the east wing is the Glen Sather Sports Medicine Clinic, opened in 1988.
