Now that the damage to the Heritage Amphitheatre tent has been repaired, the Freewill Players have returned to the “golden world” of Hawrelak Park for their theatre double feature, The Freewill Shakespeare Festival! As in other years, the festival presents two different genres to suit differing tastes: the romantic comedy As You Like It and the violent drama Coriolanus. In the former, after her cruel uncle banishes her from court, the young Rosalind flees to the Forest of Arden where, disguised as a man for her safety, she falls for Orlando. And in the latter, the stubborn and self-centred Coriolanus — once Rome’s great soldier and hero — sees all of his allies and Rome’s people turn against him. Whether you desire to witness a romance or a revolt, get thee to a show! For tickets and showtimes, please visit the website.  On a budget? Tuesday night performances and Saturday matinees are pay-what-you-will!
