Watch While You Wait for Edmonton Transit

GottaMinuteLogoDon’t have enough time to watch a whole movie while you wait for the LRT? Well, now you do! All this week, Gotta Minute Film Festival, produced in partnership with FAVA and PATTISON Onestop, is the first film fest for commuters in Western Canada! The festival plays a program of short films that will be running on the PATTISON Onestop platform screens throughout Edmonton Transit’s LRT system. All the films are super short — one minute in length — silent, and filled with bursts of attention-grabbing scenes.

The programs centre around particular themes, such as “time and space consciousness” and “contents under pressure.” In the latter theme, you can catch a cool scene of a boy who appears trapped in a staircase as he continues to enter at the bottom of the stairs, despite exiting at the top. All of the short films experiment with engaging editing techniques that force the viewer to look at reality in a different way.

If you miss any of the films — or just want to binge-watch them — head to the Stanley Milner Library, where all of the program will be continually screened in the Makerspace for FREE! A Children’s Show Reel will also be playing in the Children’s Library program room, so they can have a taste of the film fest too. And be sure to vote for your favourite on the Program page of the website! No matter how little time you have, you’ll be able to catch a great film!
