Quietus: Last Flight–Wartime Aviation Stories on the Canadian Home Front

April 18

The Alberta Aviation Museum welcomes author Anne Gafiuk for the sixth and final instalment of the 2019 Speaker Series.

In 1946, sixteen fully trained RCAF pilots from WWII were selected for an accident proneness project. Why were they chosen? Anne Gafiuk, with the help of Second World War RCAF veterans and post-war pilots, teamed together to find out. Three pilots from Alberta will be featured. Light refreshments included.

Anne Gafiuk is the author of three books published by the Bomber Command Museum of Canada: Wings Over High River, She Made Them Family, and Quietus: Last Flight. Presently, she is working on The Typhoon Project, a tribute to Canadians who served with Typhoon squadrons during WWII.
