Ufest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival
UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival is a celebration of Ukrainian culture, food, music, visual arts, crafts and dance. This two-day event brings together people of Ukrainian heritage, and attracts audiences of many diverse cultures.
Volleyball Canada Nationals
The VC Youth National Championships are the premier domestic, national event for the Canadian volleyball community. Volleyball athletes from across the country, including girls and boys age groups, 14U to 18U, hit the courts to battle for national glory.
RVA 4 Bridges Bike Tour
Join the River Valley Alliance's Community Engagement Committee for a bike tour from Terwilliger Park, crossing four unique bridges. This will be a longer ride of around 18km for the round trip. However, it will be a leisurely ride, with opportunities to stop and take photos of the beautiful river views. The route is mostly flat with a few rollers, a switch back and a dog park.
W hat to bring:
This event is BYOB (bring your own bike or e-bike). Please make sure your bike is in good working order. One of our members will be available to help with any bike issues and they will have a first aid kit on hand.
It is also suggested to wear weather-appropriate clothing and bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Tasty Truck Food Festival
With over 20 food vendors, Tasty Truck is the largest food truck festival in Edmonton—featuring a diverse selection of cultural cuisines, live music and fully-licensed event grounds. This is the perfect opportunity to come down with friends and family and enjoy a wide variety of delicious food options, live music and drinks all in one place, in the heart of ICE District. Admission to this event is free of charge and will feature a heated 30,000 square-foot event tent with ample table space for patrons to eat, drink and enjoy in comfort.

Kapella Kyrie Slavic Chamber Choir
The concert and recording includes highlights Kappella Kyrie has worked on for the past few years, plus new works from their current season. Audiences will hear everything from Artem Vedel’s Нині отпущаєш (Song of Symeon) to an arrangement of Dolly Parton’s Light of a Clear Blue Morning.
The evening features the premiere of Воскресіння (The Resurrection) by Edmonton composer, Diana Tayler, commissioned by Kappella Kyrie. The work is set to a poem by the award-winning Ukrainian poet, publisher, visual artist and political activist Marjana Savka and is about the optimistic spirit of so many Ukrainians fighting for their country.
Edmonton Jewish Film Festival
The Edmonton Jewish Film Festival will take place from May 21 to May 30. The festival offers a selection of the finest Jewish-themed films from around the world. This year’s films include great comedies, musicals, dramas and documentaries.
Sip & Celebrate Mom

Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts' monthly Signature Artist Series features Ukrainian artists' work on display in ACUA's public viewing gallery. The Opening Night Reception is Friday May 10.

International Children's Festival of Arts
COLOUR YOUR WORLD! For over four decades, the International Children's Festival of the Arts has transported kids to other worlds and provided them with countless awe-inspiring and mind-growing experiences. Over the years, the Festival has nurtured, inspired and ignited creative expression for hundreds of thousands of young, global citizens, and worked diligently to promote a higher degree of cultural understanding. At the Festival, children will tap into the power of imaginative thinking as they sing and dance to world music, interact with roving artists, listen to stories of others' experiences in faraway places, and create their own masterpiece with the help of a variety of hands-on activities. In 2024, the Festival will once again bring opportunities to laugh and learn while creating lasting memories that draw families, friends and communities together.
Creating Beauty - A Watercolour Exhibit
Exhibiting artworks created by a group of 11 emerging artists, alumni of the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension Visual Arts certificate Program, who studied the Introductory Watercolour Technique course with curator Amy Loewan. The theme of this exhibition is about creating beauty. It is not about 'pretty or glamour', it is about expressing beauty with a deep sense of reverence to human relationships and to the natural world.

The Today Centre's 2nd Annual 'Illuminating Hope' Garden Cocktail Party

All Guts, No Glory Art Exhibit
All Guts, No Glory – a body of most recent and compelling works by Krissya Iraheta, an emerging American-born and Edmonton-based interdisciplinary visual artists – is an exploration of lost innocence and resilience in the darkest of times. Iraheta brings together themes of trauma, religion, sexuality, interiority, and the harsh struggle to suppress vulnerability in order to survive.
Panoramada Art Exhibit
PANORAMADA – the exquisitely executed body of textile works by Caitlin Thompson, a Calgary-based textile and multimedia artist and art educator – animates the gallery space with colorful needleworks incorporating embroidery, appliqué, and repeating patterns. The natural and the digital collide in imagery of landscapes – made both by hand and with machine. PANORAMADA is an exhibition of embroidermation – combining both embroidery and animation to create looping, revolving scenes of landscapes nodding towards the history of the panoramic vista.
Reuse Fair
Reuse Fairs are one-day community events that bring together non-profit community groups, churches, schools and businesses with donated household items. Help find another home for household items that have outlived their usefulness to you. Your donations will be used to enhance the craft, sports, music and other programs provided by many non-profit and charitable organizations.
