We’re only treated to an extra day once every four years, so why not mark it with a special outing? Here’s a round-up of some fantastic events happening in Edmonton this Leap Day!

1. Take in some hilarious theatre.
Let out a barrel of laughs at Die-Nasty, whose improvised soap opera currently stars the famous characters from the Paris of the 1920s. Or visit wonderland at the Citadel Theatre‘s recently opened Alice Through the Looking Glass!

2. View some inspiring art.
Both of these art shows are in their final days, and you don’t want to miss them! Graham Peacock‘s show at Peter Robertson Gallery features his abstract paintings that explore colours and layers, while Detour at Bugera Matheson Gallery showcases the people and landscapes Curtis Trent encountered on a road trip in Saskatchewan.

3. Cheer on your team!
The Edmonton Oil Kings take on the Victoria Royals in one of their final games before the playoffs. Enjoy all the ice-hockey action as these two teams battle it out on the rink!

4. Watch a classic film.
Until April, Edmonton Film Society’s film series, Love is in the Air, will showcase classic love stories at the Royal Alberta Museum. On February 29 at 8 pm, Catch Penny Serenade — starring Cary Grant and Irene Dunne — which is about a woman reflecting on the happiness and heartache of her marriage.
