1. RENT | Through Sep 8
Broadway Across Canada presents RENT at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. This Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning show returns to the stage for a 20th anniversary tour. Watch as a group of impoverished artists struggle to create a life in the Lower Manhattan’s East Village.

2. Edmonton Eskimos | Sep 7
Come out and cheer on the Edmonton Esks as they take on the Calgary Stampeders! Grab a beer and your buds and watch a classic rivalry at the Commonwealth Stadium.

3. SONiC Field Day | Sep 7–8
Check out this two-day music festival in Hawrelak Park this weekend! There will be food trucks, local vendors, plenty of space to dance, and of course some great music! Featured bands include July Talk, Said the Whale, and The Glorious Sons.

4. Shifting Uncertainties: The Land We Live On | Through Sep 20
This is the first weekend to see this art show at the University of Alberta. The work is comprised of large-scale drawings on free-floating plastic and questions whether humans have the capacity to meet the challenges posed by climate change.

5. Strathearn Art Walk | Sep 7
From 12 pm–7 pm, come out to the pleasant neighbourhood of Strathearn and check out the work of 300 artists with the beautiful view of the river valley and downtown skyline in the background. There will also be live music, drinks, and tons of tasty food trucks. An ATM will be on site to make cash purchases.
