Five gorgeous acres await at the St. Albert Botanic Park.

One of Alberta’s oldest communities, St. Albert was established in 1861 and named after Father Albert Lacombe. Just minutes north of Edmonton, it’s known as the “Botanical Arts City” in acknowledgement of all it values, enjoys, and celebrates. Stroll the banks of the Sturgeon River or try your luck during fishing season, and visit spots like the Arden Theatre, City Hall, St. Albert Grain Elevator Park, and the Musée Héritage gallery and museum.

Best Bets

1. Part greenhouse, spa, restaurant, café, bakery, and shopping centre, the Enjoy Centre has it all!

2. Discover your next favourite artwork at the renovated Art Gallery of St. Albert, located in the historic Banque d’ Hochelaga building.

3. Step into Bodega and treat yourself to wine and tapas like they do in Spain.

4. Lois Hole Provincial Centennial Park is a hidden gem, only minutes away from downtown St. Albert. The 1800-hectare park preserves Big Lake, one of Alberta’s most important bird habitats. Ducks Unlimited Canada has even constructed interpretive boardwalks on the eastern shore.

5. The seasonal St. Albert Farmers’ Market is the largest outdoor market in western Canada! June to October, you can stop by for baked goods, artisanal crafts, street performances, and more. This year, the SAFM’s Indoor Christmas Market will run November 21 to December 19, with over 100 vendors per weekend.

6. Wander five gorgeous acres of the St. Albert Botanic Park year-round. Admission is free!
