1. Edmonton Blues Festival | Aug 23–25
If you love the blues, then this festival is for you. Artists from all over Canada and the United States will be performing in the Heritage Amphitheatre in Hawrelak Park with the likes of Rott’n Dan and Lightnin’ Willy, Rick Vito, The Proven Ones, and many more.

2. Monster Truck Throwdown | Aug 23–25
Get revved up for this three-day event filled with 8 trucks of epic proportions—including the legendary Avenger and Jurassic Attack. Watch in awe as drivers perform freestyle stunts, jumps, flips, and other adrenaline-pumping displays of monster machinery prowess. Join early for a meet and greet with the drivers, an up-close look at the trucks, and free ice cream.

3. Microbial Aura | Aug 23–Sept 28
Artist Nicole Edmund delves into the intricate world of the human microbiome through her print-based exhibit at SNAP Gallery. The series investigates how we are followed by a microbial cloud everywhere we go, every day—a finding of which is both revolting and fascinating. Admission to any SNAP Gallery exhibition is free.

4. Zoobrew 2019 | Aug 23
Wander the zoo with a brew in hand at this unique 18+ event. Aside from a cool way to experience seeing zoo animals, you will also be treated to live performances, activities, and tons of craft beers, spirits, and wine. Doors open at 6 pm with last call at 10 pm. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.

5. Edmonton Eskimos | Aug 23
This Friday you can come out to the Commonwealth Stadium and watch the 2015 Grey Cup Winners as they go head to head with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!

6. Open Streets Street Party | Aug 25
Open Streets invites you to play in the streets, as more than a kilometre of Downtown roads go car-free for a few hours this summer. Free activities include a bike parade, games and fitness classes. Meet your neighbours, enjoy the food trucks, live music and more at this family-friendly street party.

7. Caskapalooza | Aug 25
Come out for a summer craft beer sampling event at CRAFT Beer Market. Enjoy a night of entertainment and beer tasting with over 20 casks from local breweries. Tickets are $25 and include 12 sample beer tokens—purchases can be made on Eventbrite.
