Vegreville’s Corn Maze celebrates this weekend with a Halloween theme!

Just because Thanksgiving weekend has passed doesn’t mean that the festivities need to end too! Here are our picks for ways to keep the long-weekend buzz going, whether you’re down for fall thrills, spooky Halloween events, or anything in between. Kick back, stay safe, and enjoy all that this YEG weekend has to offer.

1) Opening weekend of Litfest
Canada’s original nonfiction festival returns with an online format. Get the chance to hear from leading Canadian authors, from renowned nonfiction writer Ann Freidman to the University of Alberta’s very own Jordan Abel. Tickets may be limited, and health precautions apply.

2) The Witchery Market | Oct 16-18
Double, double, toil and trouble: otherworldly delights found right off of Whyte Ave! Acacia Masonic Hall is host this weekend to an array of witchy vendors, tarot readings, crafts, and more.

3) A Triple Play of Mazes at Prairie Gardens 
Until October 31st, Prairie Gardens is giving visitors the opportunity to book a truly wonderful fall experience including two mazes, your choice of one of five take-home activities for the kiddos with your ticket purchase, and more! Weekend tickets are currently available, but be mindful of weather!

4) Opening weekend of Rod Charlesworth’s new exhibition
West End Gallery presents the newest works of Edmonton’s own Rod Charlesworth; a renowned landscape painter dedicated to exploring the history of landscape paintings through his unique artistic style. Artworks included in this exhibition are available for purchase and pre-sale!

5) Laser Floyd: Dark Side of The Moon | Oct 16–17
Experience Pink Floyd’s legendary Dark Side of the Moon Album alongside a mind-blowing laser show at Telus World of Science. Tickets are now available for Friday and Saturday show times, with more up for grabs until November 14th.

6) Spooky Stalks Corn Maze | Oct 17-18
Come experience Vegreville’s corn maze with this weekend’s theme: Spooky Stalks! The Town of Vegreville promises a Halloween experience full of safe fun and family-friendly excitement. Tickets are five dollars each, and children under five years old get in free!

7) Wholly Handmade Market | Oct 17-18
This local tradeshow promotes local handmade products in a fun environment! Find over 130 crafters and artisans on display in Sherwood Park, and get some of that holiday shopping done early.
