Artist Jae Sterling brings his exhibit, RHWWM, to the new CO*LAB!

Whether you’re looking for film festivals, live music, drive-in movies, or astonishing artifacts, there’s something going on for you in Edmonton this weekend!

1) French Quarter’s Fall Patio Series 
Enjoy live music and fresh autumn air. These socially distanced concerts will take place outdoors as much as possible (weather permitting). All concerts begin at 6 pm.

2) YEGPodfest | through Oct 3
This year’s inaugural festival is a collaboration between LitFest and the Alberta Podcast Network. It’s entirely online and free to register! Enjoy crash courses of podcast basics, various masterclasses, and panel discussions on everything from social justice to Bollywood to sports.

3) Mosquers Presents: Drive-in Movie | Oct 3
The Mosquers Film Festival presents a drive-in movie experience in the parking lot of Kingsway Mall. Don’t miss Men in Black (1997), a story about scum-fighting super agents set to save the world from a complete intergalactic disaster.

4) Art on the Block | through Oct 4
This hybrid event includes an in-person exhibition and an online auction! Visit the Art Gallery of Alberta to see the artworks and experiences, then check out the auction online to bid on them. All proceeds from the auction go towards the AGA’s educational programs and exhibitions.

5) Riding Horses with White Men | through Oct 7
This is the first show in the new CO*LAB! RHWWM by artist Jae Sterling is a cross-cultural, multimedia body of work examining race, sexuality, violence, and art’s ability to retell and heal histories while simultaneously violating them.

6) Edmonton International Film Festival | through Oct 10
This year includes 30 feature-length dramas and documentaries + 22 short film programs that will all screen at Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre.

7) The Science of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! 
This exhibition at the TELUS World of Science presents an extraordinary collection of intriguing objects and astonishing artifacts from Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Marvel at the height of the tallest man that ever lived. See a calf with two faces, a megalodon shark jaw, a Rolls Royce made of matchsticks, a portrait of Einstein made of toast, and more—including the life and legacy of Robert Ripley, the explorer and adventurer! Book your tickets ahead for your timed entry.
