Halloween week (Halloweek, if you will) has finally arrived! For a scary good time, you can find events both for little monsters and grown-up ghouls all across Edmonton. It’s no trick—these events are sure to be a treat!

Family Fun

1) Haunted Pumpkin Festival | Weekends in October
Everyone is invited to enjoy some Halloween fun at Prairie Garden’s annual pumpkin festival! Find the perfect centrepiece or jack-o-lantern in their 15-acre pumpkin patch bursting with fruits of all shapes, sizes, and colours. In fact, Prairie Gardens is the northernmost place in the world to find blue pumpkins! Other activities include a pumpkin cannon, kid-friendly haunted house, carnival games, and much, much more. Kids in costumes get in FREE on Halloween weekend!

2) Norman Foote’s Halloween Howl | Oct. 27
Award-winning songwriter Norman Foote is bringing his songs and stories to Festival Place in Sherwood Park for an all-ages Halloween concert experience! Wear your costume and enjoy an evening of laughter and inspiration as Norman weaves tales of ghosts, zombies, and more Halloween friends.

3) Alt After Dark Halloween Market | Oct. 29
Head to District Whyte for this one-of-a-kind Halloween market! Browse unique, unexpected finds from over 35 local vendors—who knows what treasures you’ll discover? The market runs from 7–11 pm; admission is free for all ages.

4) FRIGHT NIGHT | Oct. 30
It’s Galaxyland as you’ve never seen it before, with dimmed lights, illusory tricks, and plenty of music. Explore the haunted house, or take on your favourite rides in a new atmosphere worthy of the Halloween season. Everyone will go home with a treat bag! It’s the perfect way for families to kick off the Halloween weekend.

5) Trunk or Treat | Oct. 30
There’s always room for even more trick-or-treating! Kids aged 12 and under and their families are invited to come trick-or-treat at this free event, collecting candy from cars that have been decorated to celebrate the Halloween season. Want to hand out candy? You can register your vehicle through the Celebration Edmonton website.

6) Hallo-YOGA with Kittens | Oct. 31
If spooks and scares aren’t really your thing, why not unwind with the most adorable yoga class ever? This 45-minute, all-ages class, hosted by SCARS Animal Rescue and YogaLife Studios, includes hanging out with oodles of adoptable kittens. Who knows, you might even find a new friend to adopt—how’s that for a Halloween treat?

Harrowing Haunts

1) DARK | Until Oct. 31
Are you brave enough to discover what’s lurking in the dark? Fort Edmonton Park invites you to experience the horror of DARK, a haunted house experience that’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Outrun killer clowns, face the the terror of an out-of-control fungus, and fend off a bloodthirsty family warped by a demonic curse. Lots of food and beverage options will be available… after all, you can’t run for your life on an empty stomach. This event is recommended for guests age 14 and up.

2) Deadmonton | Until Nov. 7
Enjoy two spine-chilling experiences at one of Edmonton’s most popular haunted houses! Watch reality itself twist around you in Warped, where space and time have become fractured and madness lurks just beyond. Outside, explore Dusk, a New Orleans-inspired cemetery—but be careful who (or WHAT) you bump into! Even after Halloween night ends, there’ll still be one more week to enjoy the thrills and scares; after all, who says the fun has to end when October does?

Spooks on Stage

1) A Spooky Little Show Like Ours | Oct. 27
Enjoy a thrilling, chilling show from some of Edmonton’s fiercest performers at this Halloween-themed cabaret. Expect great music, talented artists, exceptional acts… and a few scares for good measure. This event, hosted by The Grindstone Theatre, is rated PG.

2) Candlelight Halloween | Oct. 28, 29, & 31
Bask in a candlelit glow and listen to some of the most iconic horror themes of all time, performed by a classical string quartet in an intimate, haunting atmosphere. Located in the River Valley, the Pioneer Cabins are a great venue for beautiful views of Edmonton’s skyline. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for you to treat yourself during the performance. This concert is for attendees age 10 and older.

3) We Had a Girl Before You | Until Oct. 31
Staying in on Halloween night? Get your Halloween film fix (with an Edmonton twist) with this filmed performance of Northern Light Theatre’s gothic horror production. Starring Kristin Johnston, We Had a Girl Before You tells the tale of Edwina Trout, a spinster who discovers that her new position as a lady’s companion at the remote Whisham Manor is not what it seems. Prepare to be spooked!

Petrifying Parties

1) World Waterpark VIP Halloween | Oct. 29
This 18+ event features free tarot readings, spooky themed drinks, a photo booth, and more! Enjoy the wave pool and the water slides all night long, soundtracked by a live DJ. Everyone also receives a treat bag. Guests can also get a discount on cabanas for the true VIP experience. Costumes are welcome to really get into the Halloween spirit.

2) SCREAM | Oct. 30
SCREAM is the longest-running Halloween dance party in Canada, and it’s back for more FRIGHTFULLY good times! Over 20 of the hottest DJs and artists will be performing across 3 stages for non-stop fun. Dance the night away, explore a haunted labyrinth, and keep an eye out for roaming ghouls looking to give you a fright! With tickets going fast, the scariest thing of all will be missing out. This event is 18+ only.

3) Beaumont’s Best Halloween Bash | Oct. 30
For Halloween fun in Beaumont, look no further than the 13th annual Best Halloween Bash! Hosted by the Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival Society, this party includes costume contests, live music from RadioActive, and pay-per-slice pizza. Be sure to get your tickets in advance!

4) Goosebumps | Oct. 30
The Stanhope Eatery and Bar is hosting an all-out Halloween dance party! Dance the night away to your favourite songs from the 80s and 90s, spun by  DJ Kwake & DJ GameGirl. It’s sure to be a “Thriller” of an evening.

5) Salsachata Freaks Night | Oct. 30
Enjoy an evening of Latin dancing—in your Halloween costume! Freaks Night starts with a dance lesson from ETOWN SALSA’s Alejandro Rojas, followed by a night of showing off your moves with music by DJ Teqnic and DJ Leo RL. Both couples and singles are welcome, and prizes will be awarded for best costumes!

6) Beercade Haunted Carnival | Oct. 30
The Haunted Carnival is back! This adults-only Halloween party features lots of music, great deals on drinks, and good times all around. Tickets are limited, so be sure to buy yours online in advance. Your ticket also includes one prepaid beverage.
