Since 2008, Alberta Culture Days has encouraged communities and attractions across the province to host celebrations that inspire Albertans to participate in and discover the arts and cultural life of their communities. This year’s theme, The Spirit of Alberta, showcases the rich multicultural heritage of the province through family friendly events, workshops, and performances. Various venues throughout Edmonton will be hosting free events; visit culture.alberta.ca/culturedays for more information and to see all the events taking place.

Construction of the new Royal Alberta Museum building is now underway! The new museum is receiving more federal funding than any other museum in Canada ever has, which means that many stunning local exhibits showcasing Alberta’s culture and renowned touring exhibits will be featured. In order to celebrate this new era of the museum, Albertans are encouraged to submit their favourite “museum memory”. Through December 31, 2013, guests can mail postcards or submit an electronic postcard at www.royalalbertamuseum.ca detailing their favourite memory at the Royal Alberta Museum.
