We asked Edmonton expert and Les Clefs d’Or Nella Mirante at The Fairmont Hotel Macdonald for her advice about autumn in the city!

1. What are your top must-see events in October?
Some must-see events include the Edmonton Comedy Festival with its great lineup of comedians, and, of course, ScreamFest at the EXPO Centre!

2. Where is the best place to watch an Oilers’ game (other than the arena)?
I like to send guests to watch the Oilers’ game at 1ST RND. Build your own burger, and taste one of the largest diverse beer lists in Canada with over 75 brands to choose from!

3. The changing weather means it’s time to shop for new shoes! Where should visitors go to outfit their feet?
Poppy Barley is one of my favourite go-to spots for shoe shopping for any season. It’s Canadian luxury with a personalized, community-centered retail experience.

4. What are your tips for navigating the downtown construction?
The best way to navigate our downtown core is to use our underground pedway and above-ground pedway systems. Walking outside, use Jasper Avenue and 104th Street as the main accesses.

5. Where would you recommend guests visit to enjoy the best of autumn in Edmonton?
You’ll never forget your experience with Edmonton Regional Helicopter Tours. During the 30-minute ride, you’ll get breathtaking views soaring over the river valley, Elk Island National Park, and Edmonton International Raceway, just to name a few.
