The Carrot Community Arts Coffee House

Why it’s cool: This volunteer-powered coffee house serves as the hub for Arts on the Ave., a not-for-profit organization that works to improve Alberta Avenue. The Carrot employs community members and artists, has hosted hundreds of community events, and has become the second home for many in the neighbourhood. The cafe also displays local artwork, handmade goods, and, on weekends, hosts live music.
Cat Café on Whyte
Where: 10111 Whyte Ave.
What to try: Check out their selection of cat-themed goods like mugs, cat toys, and cat backpacks so you can carry your furry friend wherever you go!
Why it’s cool: The shop is Alberta’s very first cat café! They’ve partnered with the local not-for-profit rescue, SAFE Team, to help cats find their forever homes. Cat Café brews steamy beverages including cattes and meowcha’s with espresso beans from ACE Coffee Roasters, a well-known Edmonton roastery. They also offer a range of baked goods from Hazeldean Bakery and Sucre M.
Farrow Sandwiches

Why it’s cool: With two locations in Edmonton, this fusion between sandwich shop and café is a must-visit.
