An Edmonton Thanksgiving To Go—And To Stay

This year, many of Edmonton’s best restaurants and caterers are offering Thanksgiving dinners for both takeout and dine-in celebrations. Traditional turkey dinner? You’ve got plenty of options for every taste and budget. Looking for something a bit more off the beaten path? You’ll find that too. With our roundup of great local dining experiences, you’ll have plenty to be thankful for.

1) The Westin Edmonton – Takeout
Whether you’re planning dinner for two or for a whole bunch, The Westin will take care of the cooking and bring you a delicious meal this Thanksgiving. Their Thanksgiving Turkey Takeout includes Morinville Farms turkey, roasted vegetables, orange-cranberry relish, and Ginger Caramel Cake or Deep Caramel Pecan Flan, and is available either as a meal for two and a meal for 8-10 guests. As an add-on, you can also purchase a 5 lb honey-glazed ham. Place your order by Monday, Oct. 4 at 5 pm; pickup is available Saturday, Oct. 9th and Sunday, Oct. 10th between 11 am–5 pm.

2) Eagle’s Nest Catering – Takeout
Enjoy a heat-and-serve Thanksgiving dinner with all of the favourites and none of the fuss! Their heat-at-home Thanksgiving dinner includes sliced turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, baby carrots, and dessert. Pumpkin pie is offered with regular dinners and apple crisp is offered with their limited gluten-free dinners. Their ordering is per-person, so you don’t have to worry about ordering too much or not enough. Pickup from their Edmonton and Beaumont locations, as well as delivery, takes place Saturday, Oct. 9; the deadline to place your orders is Monday, Oct. 4 at 6 pm.

3) Bridges Catering – Takeout
Bridges not only offers the classic holiday staples with their heat-and-serve Thanksgiving meal; as an add-on to their turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables, you can also purchase mouthwatering pierogies and vegetarian cabbage rolls for an extra-Edmontonian feast. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, Oct. 5, for pickup on Saturday, Oct. 9 between 10 am–2 pm.

4) The Workshop Eatery – Takeout
The Workshop is “on your side” this Thanksgiving with a wide array of delicious side dishes to spruce up your menu. Complement your home cooking with their Maple, Miso & Bacon Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Yam Casserole, or Salted Caramel Apple Crumble. Round out your meal with a bottle of wine or a four-pack of local beer. Place your order by Tuesday, Oct. 5 for pickup either at the St. Albert Public Food Hub on Oct. 7 or The Greenhouse Victoria or The Workshop Eatery on Oct. 9.

5) Highlevel Diner – Dine-In
The Highlevel Diner’s delicious Thanksgiving Week Hot Turkey Dinner is guaranteed to make for a holiday feast to remember. Enjoy local, free-range turkey, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, fig stuffing, and a peach ginger cranberry sauce. The dinner is available Oct. 5–10 after 3 pm. Just looking for something a little extra for your own homemade dinner? Highlevel Diner offers 1L of their own delicious turkey gravy for you to heat and serve at home.

6) Careit Urban Deli – Takeout
If you’re looking for a classic, hearty Thanksgiving dinner, Careit offers a full turkey dinner in both individual and four-person packages, complete with turkey breast and leg, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cranberry sauce. Just looking for individual pieces to add to your Thanksgiving spread? You can separately order gravy, stuffing, vegetables, and mashed potatoes. You can also place a deposit down on a fresh, local turkey straight from the farmer. Dinner/side orders and deposits for fresh turkeys must be placed by Wednesday, Oct. 6 for pickup on Oct. 9 & 10.

7) A Cappella Catering – Takeout
A Cappella Catering is once again offering their annual Take & Bake package, which includes salad, turkey, whipped potato puree, stuffing, and roast vegetables. You can also choose mouthwatering add-ons like cauliflower au gratin, braised pork shank, and pumpkin praline pie. Just looking for a few add-ons to your own home cooking? Choose from “Everything But The Bird” with their à la carte sides menu, featuring showstoppers like peach buratta salad and dauphinoise potatoes. Place your order by Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 12 pm for delivery or pick-up on Saturday, Oct. 9.

8) Evario – Dine-in & Takeout
Don’t feel like turkey this Thanksgiving? You’ll be spoiled for choice with Evario’s menu, featuring delicious options for both dine-in and takeout. Beyond turkey, you can choose from tasty entrees including smoked pumpkin with gnocchi, seared salmon, and 8 oz Alberta steak (the latter two for dine-in only). Available appetizers include roasted pumpkin bisque and charbroil octopus. Round out your meal with a pumpkin mascarpone gateau, drizzled with pumpkin caramel sauce. Takeout orders must be placed by Thursday, Oct. 7, for pickup from Oct. 8–11 between 2 pm and 9 pm.

9) Santa Maria Goretti Centre – Dine-in & Takeout
If a Thanksgiving lunch is more your style, you can enjoy Thanksgiving pranzo, or lunch, at the Santa Maria Goretti Centre on Sunday, Oct. 10. This multi-course meal includes calamari fritti, baked ham with raisin marsala sauce, and penne marinara in addition to turkey, potatoes, and more. For those looking to dine at home, the Centre offers a takeaway meal with antipasto, salad, potatoes, turkey, and pumpkin pie. Options for those with dietary restrictions are available upon request at the time of your reservation for both dine-in and takeout meals. Make your reservations or place your order by Friday, Oct. 8.

10) Sunterra Market – Takeout
No matter what level of Thanksgiving cooking you’re looking to do, Sunterra Market has you covered. For a hands-off experience, enjoy a fully-prepped, ready-to-go Thanksgiving Feast, with four choices of entree: herb-rubbed turkey, honey mustard-glazed ham, rotisserie prime rib, or kale and sweet potato casserole. Sides include squash-and-pumpkin soup, grain salad, and apple-berry galette. For those who prefer to prep at home, Sunterra’s Thanksgiving meal kits contain ingredients and instructions to prepare a full meal including either stuffed turkey breast or glazed ham, as well as a brussels sprout and bacon casserole, pumpkin apple pie, and more. 12) Sawmill Restaurant – Dine-in & Takeout
All Thanksgiving weekend, enjoy the Sawmill’s Thanksgiving dinner, complete with white and dark turkey meat, garlic mashed potatoes, stuffing, garden vegetables, and pumpkin pie. 13) Braven – Dine-In
Let Braven’s Chef Jeremy treat you to a delicious Thanksgiving dinner with their special Thanksgiving Menu, available from October 9–11 after 5 pm. On the menu this year are spiced butternut squash soup, Braven prime rib, roasted cauliflower with vegetable gravy, and sticky toffee pudding, to name just a few of their fall-inspired offerings. 14) River Cree Resort & Casino – Dine-In
You’ve got three delicious dining options to choose from at River Cree Casino this Thanksgiving. At Tap25, enjoy a classic dinner of turkey, stuffing, roast veggies, and potatoes, or stop in for lunch, featuring a hot turkey sandwich and roasted squash soup. At The Kitchen, indulge in an all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving buffet with leg of lamb, beef brisket, oven-baked canneloni, and so much more. At Italia, you’ll enjoy a dinner featuring elevated classics like autumn salad, herb ricotta gnocchi, and Pumpkin Kahlua Cheesecake. 15) Vee Restaurant & Lounge – Dine-in & Takeout
Located inside Century Casino St. Albert, VEE’s is offering a three-course Thanksgiving feast on Monday, Oct. 11 between 4:30 pm – 9 pm. Enjoy a hearty meal of Alberta steak soup, turkey with peach stuffing and mashed potatoes, and homemade pumpkin pie. You can also get your meal to-go for Thanksgiving wherever you please. Please note that reservations cannot be made for this dinner.

16) The Glasshouse Kitchen & Bar – Takeout
This year, The Glasshouse’s Thanksgiving to Go feast includes herb-roasted organic turkey, potato & cheese pierogies, maple brussels sprouts, herb & dried fruit stuffing, and many more delicious, locally-sourced goodies. For an extra-special touch, you can also choose red and white wines, as well as a 4-pack of tall boy beers. You can place your order over the phone; be sure to reserve your meal ASAP, as numbers are limited.

17) Prairie Catering – Takeout
Prairie Catering’s heat-and-serve Thanksgiving Dinner for Two includes turkey roulade, stuffing, potato gratin, and homemade gravy and cranberry sauce. For a supplement to your order or to your own home cooking, Prairie Catering also offers delectable dessert and pastry options including biscuits with sage gravy, pumpkin bread with honey and thyme butter, and rosewater cheesecake.
