Despite this summer in September we seem to be experiencing, Fall fashion has taken over our local boutiques, malls and city streets. Flip flops and delicate sandals are being left in the closet, while leather boots and loafers are taking centre stage. The warm colour palette, chunky knits, and cozy layers that come with the cooler season make this my favourite time of year for fashion.
To inspire your fall and winter wardrobe, Western Canada Fashion week is hitting the runway from September 19-26. Talented local, Canadian, and a selection of established international designers will be showing their stuff during the exciting week that will make you feel like you’ve been transported to the stylish streets of New York City! Expect to see some stunning collaborations between artists, performers, videographers, and musicians, as well as some great people watching opportunities — all of Edmonton’s fashionistas will be out in full force!
Though everything that comes stomping down the runway is worth checking out, my picks for the ‘Don’t Miss’ shows are — the Celebrity Showcase on September 21, the Fantasy Hair Competition on September 23, and LUXX Ready To Wear on September 25 (the designer gave me a sneak peak at some of his AMAZING fabrics, can’t wait for this one!).
