Edmonton’s first and only paleo restaurant, The Cave, serves up an impressive menu of 100% soy-free, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, and dairy-free offerings—but!— if someone didn’t tell you, you probably wouldn’t know it, and that’s by (brilliant) design. Brunch and lunch items highlight everything from fruit smoothies and Dinosaur Eggs (chorizo-wrapped eggs with hash browns) to Paleo Poutine and Asian-Glazed Duck Drumettes. As for dinner, expect a sophisticated menu showcasing elegantly prepared mains, such as seasonal fish, lamb, and the Cave Strip Loin, served with gremolata, confit grape tomatoes, and fondant potatoes.

When it comes to dining at LUX Steakhouse, you can’t go wrong with a dry-aged steak cut from a premium-choice loin of Alberta beef. But LUX is also known for its classic sides and starters that have been elevated to new levels of deliciousness. Favourites include the Truffled Lobster Mac & Cheese and the Steakhouse Nachos, made with crispy russet potato chips, layered with shredded beef short rib, shaved aged cheddar, jalapenos, and served with salsa and ranch dip.

If summer had a drink, it might be Wilfred’s House Punch. On Friday and Saturday nights, the house punch bowl takes its boozy place of pride up on the pink-and-white herringbone-tiled bar, to the delight of customers in the know. Expect House Punch favourites like the Tanqueray 10, made with Jamaican rum, lemon and grapefruit juice, green tea, and nutmeg. This bright and cheerful, contemporary dinner also has an outstanding cocktail menu and Happy Hour specials.
