It’s a rare opportunity to be able to be in the presence of centuries-old artefacts of historical and cultural significance. If you’re in Edmonton through March 9, be sure to visit the Art Gallery of Alberta to view Of Heaven and Earth: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums. Most of the paintings have never been exhibited outside of Glasgow, and the Art Gallery of Alberta is the only Canadian stop on the exhibition’s international tour. Esteemed painters like Giovanni Bellini, Sandro Botticelli, and Titan have work represented in the collection.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is open Tue 11 am – 5 pm; Wed 11 am – 9 pm; Thu – Sun 11 am – 5 pm; Closed Mon. Admission: $12.50 Adult; $8.50 Senior (65+)/Student (6-17); Children under 6 free; $26.50 Family. For more information on the gallery and exhibits, visit www.youraga.ca.
