Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Edmonton 2022

Remembrance Day marks an important occasion to honour the contributions of military personnel and those lost in service. Several services taking place in Edmonton and the surrounding area provide individuals with the opportunity to observe this crucial day. Lest we forget.


  1. 1. Remembrance Day Service at City Hall | November 11, 10:30, Location: City Hall Plaza (Outdoor)

The City of Edmonton and the Loyal Edmonton Regiment will be holding an outdoor service to honour those who have served our country, led by the Commanding Officer of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.

2. RAM Remembers | November 11, 10:00 – 4:00, Location: Royal Alberta Museum

The Royal Alberta Museum will be commemorating those who served with two events. Visitors are invited to view Reflecting on Remembrance Day, a film that asks RAM Veterans and soldiers to reflect on the significance of Remembrance Day.

The RAM will also have a viewing table in their lobby where the current Curator of Military and Government History will be sharing stories and artifacts with members of the public from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

3. The Jewish Federation of Edmonton’s Remembrance Day Service | November 11, 10:30, Location: Edmonton Jewish Cemetery

Hosted by the Jewish Federation of Edmonton’s Holocaust Committee, this annual celebration will take place at the Jewish Ceremony. All individuals are welcome to remember those who have served.

4. Beverly Memorial Cenotaph Remembrance day celebration | November 11, 10:50, Location: Beverly Memorial Cenotaph

Beverly is home to the oldest Cenotaph in Alberta. Join this community for their annual memorial event, where there will be a procession from Maranatha Christian Reformed Church to the Cenotaph at 10:20. The service will begin at the Cenotaph at 10:50 and will be joined by many members of military service and veterans.

5. Leduc Remembrance Day Ceremony | November 11, 9:45, Location: Leduc Civic Centre

The City of Leduc and the Leduc Legion Branch No. 108 will be marking November 11th with both an indoor and Cenotaph service. After these events, individuals are invited to visit the Legion Room for coffee. If you are unable to attend, the Legion will be live-streaming the service. The feed will be available here.

6. EdMetro Chamber Choir: Vern’s Diary | November 13, 3:00, Location: Trinity Lutheran Church

The EdMetro Chamber Choir is partnering with the Edson & District Historical Society and Veterans Affairs Canada and Royal Canadian Legion to bring audience their first in person concert since Spring 2020. This concert will be showcasing the life of Sergeant L.E. “Vern” Turner, a Veteran of the Second World War.

7. Edmonton Recital Society: In Remembrance | November 13, 2:00, Location: Holy Trinity Anglican Church

Edmonton Recital Society is proud to be presenting their annual event, which offers audiences an afternoon of reflection. This event will feature Laura Veeze on violin, Julianna Scott on clarinet, and Sarah Ho on piano. Both old and new classical selections will be paired with poetry readings. Admission by donation.
