Celebrate Edmonton’s diverse and delicious culinary scene during Taste of Edmonton Festival, as dozens of Edmonton’s finest chefs create special menus for hungry guests to sample, paired with local beers, wines, and spirits. Come to this event hungry — there’s plenty to nosh on! Sample-sized plates and drinks are available for 1-5 tickets each. Tickets are $1 each and can be purchased on-site, but you can skip the line-ups by buying them in advance via Tix on the Square.
In addition to sampling your fill of food and drinks , don’t miss:
1. Culinary Workshops: Learn how to create your own yummy dishes like charcuterie plates and gluten-free meals, or how to cook using specific techniques like curing and smoking. For a hands-on experience you can sign up in advance for $20 to participate in the demonstration; or, it’s free to watch from the sidelines and take in the lessons. Workshops take place daily; visit the website for details.
2. Entertainment: With 43 different bands performing throughout the festival, there’s plenty of talent to keep you entertained as you settle down with a glass of wine and a plate of delicious samples. Vancouver folk-pop band Hey Ocean! opens the festival on July 18 at 8:30pm, and regional talents continuing to take the stage throughout the week.
3. 10-Mile Meal: It doesn’t get fresher or more local than this! The festival closes July 27, 7 pm with a sit-down dinner that focuses on supporting local producers and chefs, using ingredients found within a 10 mile radius of downtown Edmonton. Seats for this are limited and tickets must be purchased from Tix on the Square in advance.
