Edmonton Poetry Festival

About: Discover how dynamic, diverse, and engaging poetry can be at any (or all!) of the five Edmonton Poetry Festival events today:

  • CBC at Noon: Four multilingual Edmonton poets from four continents talk about bridging language and culture through poetry. CBC Centre Stage, Edmonton City Centre Mall, 12 pm.
  • Literary Cocktails: Stephen Scobie reads about Jean-Luc Godard, E.D. Blodgett re-imagines the lyric form, Dennis Cooley explores the genre of abecedary with his experimental poem, and Melissa Morelli’s poem explores the music of some well-known composers. The Faculty Club, University of Alberta, 4 pm.
  • Words and Purport: Grab a glass of (free!) wine and enjoy the work of four emerging writers from the University of Alberta. Audreys Books, 7 pm.
  • The Glass Door Coffeehouse: Jeanette Lynes reads work inspired by vintage Playboy, Michael Gravel is reading new, never-before-performed work, and Megan Keirstead performs her narrative songs. Koffee Cafe, 7 pm.
  • French Twist: Edmonton’s French Quarter is the perfect venue to showcase the work of multi-talented francophone performers from western Canada. Cafe Bicyclette, 8 pm.

Workhall Boutique Spring Preview

Hungry for Change: Film
