Stroll the lit pathways at the U of A Botanic Garden for these additional dates this January!

How will you spend this weekend in Edmonton? Whether you’re looking for a winter sport, final holiday lights, or a theatrical experience, there’s something for you.

1) Climb the new ACC Edmonton Ice Wall!
A new winter attraction has opened in Edmonton! The city’s first and only ice climbing facility is now operational near the Edmonton Ski Club hill in the river valley. If you have your belay check already, you’re free to drop in! Absolutely new to climbing? Their Intro to Ice Climbing Course is every Monday.

2) Take an encore stroll through Luminaria 
Due to popular demand, the gorgeous pathways of the University of Alberta Botanic Garden will stay lit for additional dates in January! Come for the tranquility and snow, and stroll lighted pathways in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden. There’s no limit to the love and lights of this 360 visual experience. Book your timed-entry reservation soon!

3) Stream the Citadel Theatre’s production of Mary’s Wedding: A Métis Love Story
This Métis retelling of the Canadian classic is available on streaming video! Witness a love like no other from the Alberta prairies to the battlegrounds of World War I. The age guidelines is 10+ for this at-home theatrical experience from The Citadel Theatre.

4) Watch the Edmonton Oilers back on the ice in Rogers Place!
It’s the first weekend of the year with this beloved winter sport, and Saturday, January 16 has the Oilers up against the Montreal Canadiens. Some Edmonton restaurants have game-day deals, and you can participate in the EOCF’s 50/50 raffle online.

5) Pick up delicious snacks & watch TWOSE’s amazing IMAX films at home
Watch a selection of IMAX documentary films, now available for video on demand. For only $1.30 CDN, you can rent one of their popular films for 72 hours. Film selection includes Dinosaurs Alive, Wild Ocean, Wonders of the Arctic, and Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs. If you plan well enough in advance, you can also add a Reception Box to your movie ticket (all orders must be placed by 9 am the day prior to showtime.)

6) Indulge during Chinatown Dining Week!
Participating restaurants are offering $10 and $18 fixed-price takeout specials, and include Liuyishou Hot Pot, King Noodle House Pho Hoang, Namaste India, Padmanadi, Hong Kong Bakery, Tea Bar Cafe, and others. See their menus online.
