Edmonton is bustling with activity! Here’s 4 ways to spend your weekend.

Check out a holiday market

ACUA’s Christmas Market is taking place December 3rd at their brand new downtown location! On top of their regular gallery and boutique, this market will feature vendors selling art, crafts, food, and Ukrainian goods. Find them at #100, 10554 110 St. from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

The Edmonton Christmas Market also kicks off this weekend! This is the market’s second year at Fort Edmonton Park. Visitors can expect stunning light displays, local makers, festive live theatre, and so much more! Grab your tickets here.

See a festive show

The Citadel Theatre’s A Christmas Carol is taking to the stage for another year of festive tunes and a classic story! Following a miserly old man who is haunted by the Ghosts of Christmas, this beloved story teaches audiences about kindness and the holiday spirit.

This weekend is also your last chance to check out St. Albert Children Theatre’s production of A Year with Frog and Toad. On until December 4th at the Arden Theatre, this show takes audiences on a magical journey of the unique friendship shared between two amphibious creatures that stands the test of time. A mix of wit, humour, and melody, this show is a wonderful experience for all ages.

Explore an art exhibition

Escape the cold by exploring Edmonton’s local art scene! The Art Gallery of Alberta is currently hosting several exciting exhibitions, including Riaz Mehmood’s Ghazal – Songs for Home. This exhibition pays homage to Mehmood’s homeland in Kyhber Pakhtunkhwa through video, photography, painting, and textile.

Get outside!

Don’t let the cold temperatures stop you, there’s a whole lot of fun to be found outdoors in Edmonton this weekend! Check out Zoominescence at the Edmonton Valley Zoo to help them celebrate their 10th anniversary! With stunning light installations and a special focus on animal conservation, this event is filled with fun for the whole family.
