Art on the Block 2022: Own It | May 6

The Art Gallery of Alberta will host its annual Art on the Block fundraiser this Friday! This is your opportunity to bid on stunning original works of art and unique experiences and objects donated by visual artists and local businesses across the province. Tickets for the Curator’s Preview include an exclusive pre-event mixer, a tour of the auction, and advanced bidding. General Admission tickets include refreshments, elevated food tastings, and entertainment. Program Three | May 6 & 7

Join Ballet Edmonton this weekend as they perform Program Three, a mixed program that will feature two new works by Ballet Edmonton’s Artistic Director Wen Wei Wang and choreographer Diego Ramalho. A new piece by Montreal-based artist Andrea Peña will be performed in the second half. Grab your tickets online and head to Triffo Theatre to get in on all the beauty this performance has to offer!

Corb Lund | Until May 7

Get your country on with one of the biggest names in Canadian country music. Corb Lund grew up in Southern Alberta and studied jazz and bass at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton. Since then, he won numerous JUNO Awards and Canadian Music Association Awards. Now is your chance to see the energy he brings to the stage at the Starlite Room this Friday and Saturday! KALEO: Fight or Flight Tour | May 7

KALEO, one of Iceland’s most successful bands, is coming to the Edmonton EXPO Centre this weekend! They were big hits at festivals like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, and now they will grace Edmonton with the same electrifying performances. With their new album release of Surface Sounds in 2021, their Fight or Flight Tour will bring audiences lots to take in. That’s not all—KALEO will be joined by special guest Belle Mt. Manchester Square Spring Festival | May 7

Head over to Manchester Square to enjoy the first annual Spring Festival while surrounded by European-inspired architecture. There will be markets, flower vendors, food trucks, face painting, live music, beer gardens, door prizes, and more! Bloomsday | Until May 15

Follow the story of Robert and Cait as they reunite after thirty-five years and retrace the steps of their love back to their younger selves. This time-travelling love story mixes humour, love, and heartache to teach audiences to make the most of the present before it becomes the past. NorthwestFest | Until May 15

From its beginnings in 1983, NorthwestFest has become Canada’s longest-running nonfiction film festival. This year, it is hosting 24 film events in-person and 26 events online. Some films featured include A Taste of Whale, The Taking, The Long Rider, A Crack in the Mountain, and more. These films from Canada and around the world comment on human rights, social and environmental issues, and the strength of humanity. There will also be a filmmaking master class on May 7.
