One of Edmonton’s Les Clefs d’Or concierges — Nella Mirante of The Westin Edmonton — shares her thoughts on where to enjoy a great glass of wine in Edmonton and “wine down” after a long day:
Tzin Wine & Tapas Bar
“This restaurant’s intimate and welcoming atmosphere is what draws me here. I love to end my day with a Dona Paula Malbec, my favourite red wine, and their baked Brie.” 10115-104 St., 780-428-8946. tzin.ca
Tavern 1903
“The unique light fixtures, 110 year old artifacts, and the original bar — which was in the Alberta Hotel and is now newly restored and redesigned — is where I like to sip a really rich cabernet sauvignon and indulge in the mouth-watering mozzarella bar.” 9802 Jasper Ave., 780-424-0152. tavern1903.com
Sabor Divino
“I love to stroll down the Boardwalk and into Sabor Divino where I am able to enjoy a wide variety of wines by the glass from both the old world and the new. They also have the have the most tantalizing tapas — I am enamoured with the cherry peppers stuffed with bacon and cream cheese!” 10220-103 St., 780-757-1114. sabordivino.ca Editors Note: Sabor Divino has a new wine and tapas room called Bodega, in the same space, which is worth checking out!

Mmm, I’d love to try the Jamon Iberico De Bellota at Sabor Divino. Their menu touts it as “[t]he world’s best dry cured ham”.
Can anyone recommend any other cool wine spots in Edmonton that weren’t featured in this article? Leva and Bar Bricco are my current favourites, but I would also be up for trying someplace with a different style of food – maybe something Argentine?
