A celebration of the strength and beauty of the world’s Indigenous peoples, the World Indigenous Nations Games will include traditional games from around the world. Hundreds of athletes from 29 registered countries will compete on Treaty 6 territory in and around Enoch Cree Nation in multi-sports events—which are free for the public to attend—such as canoeing, log races, Indian horse relays, lacrosse, and Denesuline hand games. The festivities will be rounded out with the celebratory opening and closing ceremonies, nights of traditional and contemporary entertainment, and a conference on Indigenous issues.
