Cheryl’s Run

September 24

In support of The Stollery Awasisak Indigenous Health Program https://www.cherylsrun.com This is the 6th annual run/walk in support of The Stollery and Canadian Blood Services. The event consists of a 5k run/walk, a 10k run, and a fun kids obstacle run with this year funds going directly to the Stollery Awasisak Indigenous Health Program. The Awasisak program is a first of its kind program in Canada that supports indigenous children and their families from across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Yukon, and NWT. This year the top fundraiser will receive a trip for two to Yellowknife courtesy of Canadian North Airlines, 2 nights accommodation at the Explorer Hotel and an adventure trip to hunt the northern lights courtesy of North Star Adventures. All participants receive a t-shirt & some other fun swag, Cookies by George at the finish line, lunch from The Purple Perogy and are entered to win some great prizes including a laptop computer from Shoppers Drug Mart, a birthday party package from Hide ‘n Seek, Car detailing package from Toyota and other great gift certificates. There are also 100 passes to give away to kids for Hide ‘n Seek. Organizers are a small group of friends & family who organize this event in memory of Cheryl Boyle who was a nurse at the Stollery but sadly lost her battle with Aplastic Anemia back in 2017. The run is held annually but they also hold blood donor clinics at Canadian Blood Services 4 times a year to recruit people to give the most precious gift of life.
