DARREN ANDRYCHUK: WHEN MUSIC STOPS*
December 10, 2019 - January 11, 2020
The gay male bathhouse space was a traditional community centre and safe space for gay men to express themselves. This installation explores homophobia, heteronormativity, genocide, and loss, using the idea of the gay bathhouse as a theatrical backdrop. While humorous at times, the exhibition also explores painful and difficult subject matter from a personal vantage point. This is the final visual presentation for the degree of Master of Fine Arts in Intermedia. *Visitors must be 18 years or older to attend this exhibition.
