Join the Muttart Conservatory for their new Gaia exhibit, guaranteed to take you out of this world

Gaia is touring artwork by Luke Jerram, an artist based in Bristol, England. Measuring seven metres in diameter, Gaia features detailed NASA imagery of the Earth’s surface and provides the opportunity to see our planet on this scale, floating in three-dimensions. The exhibit at the Muttart marks its debut in Western Canada. The artwork has toured internationally since 2018 in Hong Kong, Australia, Europe, United States and at the Natural History Museum in London.

The installation aims to create a feeling of awe for the planet, a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life, and a renewed sense of responsibility for taking care of the environment.

Gaia will be open to the public in the Feature Pyramid from January 14 to February 26, 2023.
