Intro to Natural Dyes & Porcupine Quills

September 29

Develop a deeper understanding of Indigenous culture and art with Fort Edmonton Park’s new Indigenous Perspective Workshops, where they bring Métis stories and culture to life with instructor Natalie Pepin. In the Introduction to Natural Dyes and Porcupine Quill Workshop, you’ll embark on a guided plant walk around Fort Edmonton Park trails and work with quills, wolf willow seeds, and dyes to create a custom piece of jewelry.

This workshop lays a foundational understanding of Indigenous art and how the land provides the various elements that come together to form a single art piece; everything is related and each element is needed in order to create a beautiful outcome.

Each attendee gets to bring home their very own custom-made piece of jewelry.
