The Venetian Series
The Venetian Series is atmospheric. Every scene makes one wonder what is going to happen next. It is like viewing “stills” from a movie. These are larger works painted in oil on panel, with a finish that creates the illusion of age.
Linda Craddock was born and raised in Vegreville, Alberta. With a desire to be an artist, Linda attended the Alberta College of Art and graduated in 1974. In 1988 she received a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary.
Today she lives in Calgary, where she maintains a studio practice with her partner Peter Deacon (RCA).
Linda’s work has been exhibited internationally in public exhibitions in the U.S.A, Poland and the Czech Republic. Nationally there have been exhibits in British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan and Quebec including a touring exhibition with the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography.
In Alberta, public exhibitions have the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton, the Glenbow Museum and the Nickle Arts Museum in Calgary. Her work is in numerous public, corporate and private collections in Canada and Europe.
