Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Installation

October 5 - October 17

The Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Art Installation and Awareness Session is a project devoted entirely to honouring Indigenous people who are or have been victims of violence and injustice. This installation art and educational initiative will take place in the Parkdale Cromdale Community League rink over the course of about 2 weeks. It will be composed of the use of red fabric-a symbol of MMIP, information panels, and ceremonies. It will include a video projection mapping installment and lights to demonstrate the scale and impact of this issue. In addition, individuals will be encouraged to donate to the cause and any proceeds from the event will be donated.
This project originated from the efforts, collaboration, and ideas by the volunteers at Parkdale Cromdale Community League and Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society.
