Edmonton Opera’s season opens with Tosca, one of the grandest of all operas and a must see for opera lovers and newcomers alike. As timeless as ever, Tosca portrays a world where lovers and artists face tyranny and evil, with some of the most famous music ever composed.
Edmonton will see the celebrated American soprano, Karen Slack, make her company debut as Tosca. Canadian David Pomeroy, whose career takes him around the world, returns to Edmonton Opera as Tosca’s beloved Cavaradossi. They will be joined by baritone Peter Barrett, debuting the role of Scarpia, who is remembered for his fine performance in Edmonton Opera’s recent production of La Bohème.
