The Many Moods of Christmas

Edmonton’s Greenwood Singers, under the direction of Founder & Artistic Director Robert de Frece, are back with their annual presentation of The Many Moods of Christmas. This online concert event will premier on Wednesday, December 15 at 7:30 pm and will be available for viewing until December 31. Attend the concert from the comfort of your own home at a time that works for you! The choir will be joined by the University of Alberta Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers, organist Marnie Giesbrecht, pianist Helen Stuart, bassist Jeff Johnson and percussionist Murray Smith. This concert is proudly presented by Snyder & Associates LLP.
The program will include motets from the late Renaissance by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and William Byrd; anthems by Canadian composers Healey Willan and Brendan Lord, American composer Rosephanye Powell, and English composer Derek Healey; carol arrangements by Mack Wilberg with organ, piano and handbell accompaniment; and settings of popular Christmas songs with rhythm section. The program will also include the lively music making of the University of Alberta Faculty of Education Handbell Ringers, playing 75 English handbells and 56 handchimes.
