Art on the Block is a glamourous evening with the opportunity to outbid the competition and take home stunning, original works of art donated by some of the most recognized visual artists in the province.

Old Strathcona Art Walk
Mariam Qureshi, a visual artist, invites you on an art walk from the farmers market in Old Strathcona to FoundryStudios. The walk to thestudio takes only a few minutes and it’s an easy and enjoyable one. Inside the building, you will discover several studios with amazing and inspiring artworks, some of which are unfinished and others ready to be sold. Alberta has 18,100 professional artists who make up 9% of the 202,900 artists in Canada.
Enjoy a taste of the art world and explore the working studios in FoundryStudios. If you wish, you can even bring a drawing pad and sketch with Mariam after the walk at the picnic tables.
CANstruction Edmonton
Canstruction is a not for profit event that began in 1992 in New York as a friendly competition between architects, engineers, designers, contractors and the community in general to design and build amazing sculptures out of cans of food. These colossal structures are judged for various awards such as Best Original Design, Best Use of Labels, Best Meal and Structural Ingenuity. At the conclusion of the event all food items are donated to local food banks.
Mother's Day Brunch
Make this Mother’s Day a masterpiece at the AGA! Indulge in our delicious buffet, featuring a Chef-attended roast Baron of Beef carving station.
Picassos of all ages are welcome to unleash their creativity with children’s crafts, while you strike a pose at our picture-perfect photo backdrop. General admission to the galleries is included.

Build-a-Dragon Craft and Pearl Hunt

Join the University of Alberta Museums to build your own dragon like those seen in Echoes of Thunder. Use your dragon to participate in a pearl scavenger hunt! The pearl symbolizes wisdom, spiritual energy and power in Chinese culture.
Trail Walk in Fort Saskatchewan
Walk around the West Rivers Edge fishing pond to the Interpretive Forest, where you can immerse yourself in the melodies of a diverse array of birds, admire the early spring crocuses, and reconnect with nature.
Journey of the Horse
Follow the journey of early Chinese settlers in Alberta in this two-part exhibit at the Mah Society of Edmonton. Come see our collection of fascinating objects, immerse yourself in our historic recreations, and read personal stories that illustrate the challenges and triumphs of Edmonton’s Chinese community. Immerse yourself in this historic experience and learn more about Edmonton’s past.
Ukrainian Artist Series
Alberta Council for the Ukrainian Arts' monthly Signature Artist Series features Ukrainian artists' work on display in ACUA's public viewing gallery. The Opening Night Reception is Friday May 10.
April's exhibit includes works by Ukrainian artists Larysa Matchak, Mariia Parshykova, & Svitlana Melobenska.
