It’s beginning to look a lot like…patio season! Here’s some patios where your family pooch is welcome.
Old Strathcona, Edmonton’s beloved historic district, has recently undergone a remarkable transformation, adding a splash of color and comfort to its bustling streets. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Old Strathcona Business Association (OSBA) and funding support from PrairiesCan, the completion of a two-year placemaking project has brought about the installation of over 50 pieces of vibrant street furniture, including five inviting parklets, across the district. These parklets, nestled along Whyte Avenue and 81st Avenue in West Ritchie, offer a fresh perspective on outdoor leisure and community gathering spaces.
Something about the great outdoors is full of peace and serenity. Maybe it’s the escape from the busy city or the sweet smell of pine trees. Maybe it’s the sound of birds chirping and the calming sound of water flowing in a nearby stream. Whatever the source of tranquility, moments like these are for closing your eyes, inhaling through your nose, and exhaling through your mouth. And there’s the peace. This personal, intimate experience with nature is fundamental to the Breathe Outdoors brand. It’s a moment that everyone can experience—all you have to do is take a deep breath.
